The Chanute Blue Comets started their season off in a pre-season jamboree. They team played sessions against St. Paul, Erie, and Emporia. Junior Kylee Sandborn and sophomore Sarah Uhner created chaos on the defensive end at the front of the press. Sandborn created a press that no team would want to have to go against she was creating plays that would confuse the offence and creating way to get steal after steal. When Kylee was asked what she thanks her role will be on the team she said “My role is to keep positive energy and going and being the best I can be and get my job done every time I step on the court.” Sandborn was also asked why she does so good on the press she said ” I think my biggest strength is my ability to get there and trap and anticipate the pass.” Uhner looks like she will be a very strong competitor on offense with her willingness and her not being afraid to shoot the ball, and with her defensive grit and her giving the team everything she had. When asked about how Uhner thought she did, she siad, ¨I did alright but it definitely wasn’t my best game.¨
